Tiramisu Recipe: 7 Indulgent Layers of Bliss

Description

Classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.


Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan, then gradually add to egg mixture.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring, until thickened. Cool.
  4. In another bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold mascarpone into cooled egg mixture, then fold in whipped cream.
  6. Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.
  7. Dip ladyfingers in coffee mixture and layer in a dish.
  8. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and remaining mascarpone.
  10. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  11. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed coffee for best flavor.
  • Adjust coffee liqueur to taste.
  • Can be made a day in advance.
