Description
Classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.
Ingredients

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick.
- Heat milk in a saucepan, then gradually add to egg mixture.
- Cook over low heat, stirring, until thickened. Cool.
- In another bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold mascarpone into cooled egg mixture, then fold in whipped cream.
- Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Dip ladyfingers in coffee mixture and layer in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and remaining mascarpone.
- Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
- Use freshly brewed coffee for best flavor.
- Adjust coffee liqueur to taste.
- Can be made a day in advance.
