Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  4. Rub the butter all over the turkey.
  5. Season the turkey with salt and pepper.
  6. Place the onion, carrots, celery, and herbs inside the turkey cavity.
  7. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  8. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  9. Roast the turkey, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
