Description
Snickerdoodle cookies are soft, chewy treats rolled in cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
- Shape dough into balls, roll in cinnamon sugar, and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are set.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- For chewier cookies, under-bake slightly.
- Can substitute butter with margarine.
