These are simple Valentine’s cookies decorated with icing and sprinkles.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Royal icing for decoration
- Sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut into heart shapes and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool before decorating with icing and sprinkles.

- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Use different colors of icing for variety.
- Let the icing dry completely before stacking the cookies.
