Description
A simple and hearty dish featuring pork and sauerkraut cooked in a crockpot.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut, drained
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 apples, sliced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the sliced onion at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Top with pork shoulder.
- Add sauerkraut and sliced apples on top of the pork.
- Pour chicken broth over the mixture.
- Sprinkle caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Shred the pork before serving and mix with the sauerkraut.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or bread.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
