  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Divide the dough in half. Mix peppermint extract and red food coloring into one half.
  7. Roll both dough halves into logs and twist them together.
  8. Slice the logs into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet.
  9. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Let cool before serving.
