A traditional dessert enjoyed during Christmas celebrations, rich and flavorful.
Ingredients

- 200g raisins
- 200g sultanas
- 100g currants
- 100g chopped mixed nuts
- 200g dark brown sugar
- 250g breadcrumbs
- 100g suet
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 200ml milk
- 50ml brandy
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine all the dried fruits and nuts.
- Add sugar, breadcrumbs, suet, mixed spice, and salt. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and brandy.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased pudding basin.
- Cover with parchment paper and foil.
- Steam for 6 hours, ensuring the water does not boil dry.
- Let it cool and store in a cool place until Christmas.
Notes
- Reheat the pudding by steaming for 2 hours before serving.
- Serve with brandy sauce or custard.
- Can be made several weeks in advance.
