  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 4 cups bread cubes for stuffing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  4. Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
  5. Place the chopped vegetables inside the turkey cavity.
  6. Stuff the turkey with bread cubes.
  7. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  8. Cover with foil and roast for 3 hours.
  9. Remove the foil and roast for an additional hour until golden brown.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
