Ingredients
- Almond flour – 1 cup
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup
- Egg whites – 3
- Red food coloring – 1-2 drops
- Butter – 1/2 cup
- Powdered sugar (for filling) – 1 cup
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- Mint extract – 1/2 tsp
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In another bowl, whip egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently.
- Add red food coloring and mix until combined.
- Pipe the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, then let cool.
- In a bowl, beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and mint extract until smooth.
- Fill cooled macarons with the buttercream and sandwich them together.
