A festive and delicious Christmas log cake that resembles a yule log.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Chocolate shavings for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely, then roll it into a log shape.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Frost the cake with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
- Chill the cake for at least 1 hour before serving.

- Make sure the cake is completely cool before rolling.
