- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup white wine
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth and white wine around it.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for about 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- Letting the turkey rest allows the juices to redistribute.
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of the turkey.
