Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 package saltine crackers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
- Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla extract.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts, then spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
