Description

A festive treat combining toffee and chocolate, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 package saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  4. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  9. Let sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts, then spread it evenly.
  10. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  11. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
