Delicious cherry bars perfect for Christmas.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Spread cherry pie filling over the crust.
- Mix almond extract with the remaining flour mixture and sprinkle on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Let cool, then mix powdered sugar and milk for icing.
- Drizzle icing over bars and cut into squares.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be made a day in advance.
- Substitute cherries with other fruits if desired.
