A collection of traditional Chinese New Year snacks.
Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
- Water – 1 cup
- Red bean paste – 1 cup
- Sesame seeds – 1/2 cup
- Peanuts – 1/2 cup
- Sweet soy sauce – 1/4 cup
Instructions
- Mix glutinous rice flour and water to form a dough.
- Divide dough into small balls.
- Flatten each ball and place a spoonful of red bean paste inside.
- Seal the dough and shape it into a ball.
- Roll the balls in sesame seeds and chopped peanuts.
- Steam the balls for 15 minutes.
- Serve with sweet soy sauce.
Notes
- Use a steamer for best results.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
