- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for rolling.
- Shape the dough into balls and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet, spaced apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a chewier texture, do not overbake.
- You can substitute half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar for added flavor.
