- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in cold water until dough forms.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- In another bowl, mix apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
- Spread the apple mixture over half of the dough.
- Fold the dough over the apples and seal edges.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
