Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into squares.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry beignets in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
