- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes.
- Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into squares.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry beignets in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
