Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add the wet ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into rolls.
  7. Place rolls on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use warm, not hot, milk to activate the yeast.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute some milk with buttermilk.
  • Brush with butter after baking for added flavor.
