- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 4 branches of fresh rosemary
- 4 branches of fresh thyme
- 4 branches of fresh sage
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the turkey with softened butter, salt, and pepper.
- Place the onion, lemon, and herbs inside the turkey cavity.
- Place the turkey on a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast the turkey for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

- Use a meat thermometer for best results.
- Let the turkey rest to keep it juicy.
