  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cover the turkey loosely with foil.
  7. Roast for about 2.5 to 3 hours, basting occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes for a golden skin.
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • Keep leftover turkey in the fridge for up to 4 days.
