Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 (12-14 pounds)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh rosemary – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh thyme – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 teaspoon
- Stuffing mix – 1 box
- Cranberry sauce – 1 can
- Green beans – 1 pound
- Potatoes – 5 pounds
- Milk – 1 cup
- Cheddar cheese – 2 cups, shredded
- Pumpkin pie – 1 (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing mix.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with aluminum foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes.
- While the turkey cooks, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash with milk and cheddar cheese.
- Steam the green beans until tender.
- Serve the turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Use the turkey drippings for gravy.
