Description
A traditional Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey and all the trimmings.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups green beans
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 pumpkin pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing under cold water.
- In a bowl, mix butter, bread crumbs, onion, celery, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with the mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- While the turkey cooks, prepare mashed potatoes and green beans.
- Serve with cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- You can make the stuffing ahead of time.
- Adjust cooking time based on turkey size.
