This Thanksgiving bread scoring technique enhances the presentation of your bread while ensuring even cooking.
Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the mixture.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
- Let the loaf rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes.
