Description
A classic Thanksgiving apple pie filled with sweet and tart apples, cinnamon, and a flaky crust.
Ingredients

- 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 package pie crusts (2 crusts)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Place one pie crust in a pie dish.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture.
- Dot with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust and seal the edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-45 more minutes.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for better flavor.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a treat.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
