- 2 cups bread cubes
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon sage
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
- In a bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken broth gradually until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with the stuffing mixture.
- Place the turkey on a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, removing the foil in the last hour to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature to reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- You can add fruits or nuts to the stuffing for extra flavor.
- Make sure to remove any giblets from the turkey before stuffing.
- For a crispy skin, baste the turkey with its juices.
