Traditional Southern side dishes for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 2 cups collard greens
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 4 medium sweet potatoes
- 1 cup green beans
- 1/2 cup bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Wash and chop collard greens.
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash.
- Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy.
- Add green beans to the skillet and sauté.
- Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, and seasonings to make cornbread batter.
- Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
- Serve all dishes hot with butter.
