Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups collard greens
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup green beans
  • 1/2 cup bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Wash and chop collard greens.
  3. Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash.
  4. Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy.
  5. Add green beans to the skillet and sauté.
  6. Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, and seasonings to make cornbread batter.
  7. Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Serve all dishes hot with butter.
