  • Thyme – 1 tsp, dried
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Green beans – 2 lbs
  • Potatoes – 5 lbs
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Butter – ½ cup
  • Pumpkin pie – 1 (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the turkey by seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Make cornbread stuffing by mixing crumbled cornbread, diced celery, diced onion, melted butter, sage, thyme, and chicken broth.
  4. Stuff the turkey with the cornbread mixture and place in a roasting pan.
  5. Roast turkey for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
  6. While turkey roasts, boil potatoes until tender, then mash with milk and butter.
  7. Steam green beans until bright green and tender.
  8. Serve turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
  9. Finish the meal with a slice of pumpkin pie.
