A delicious southern sweet potato casserole topped with a crunchy pecan crust.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups sweet potatoes, mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine pecans, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter.
  5. Spread the pecan mixture on top of the sweet potato layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • Let cool slightly before serving.
  • Can be made a day ahead and reheated.
