Ingredients

- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water or broth
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Chopped chives or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Bring water or broth to a boil.
- Add oats and a pinch of salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While oats cook, heat a non-stick pan and fry the egg to your liking.
- Once oats are cooked, remove from heat and stir in cheese.
- Serve oats in a bowl, topped with the fried egg.
- Garnish with chives or green onions, and season with pepper.
