Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices of rye bread
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until caramelized.
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to create the secret sauce.
- Form the ground beef into two patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties in the skillet until desired doneness.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Toast the rye bread slices in the same skillet with remaining butter.
- Assemble the sandwich: spread secret sauce on one side of the bread, add the patty with cheese, top with caramelized onions, and place another slice of bread on top.
- Cook the sandwich on both sides until golden brown.
