Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form mixture into four patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove patties and set aside.
  6. Add beef broth to the skillet.
  7. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water; add to skillet.
  8. Stir in ketchup and return patties to the skillet.
  9. Simmer for 10 minutes until sauce thickens.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
