  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 2 cups stuffing
  • 4 cups turkey broth
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups green beans
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 pumpkin pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing it.
  3. Stuff the turkey with stuffing mixture.
  4. Rub the outside with butter, salt, pepper, sage, and thyme.
  5. Place in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  6. Roast for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
  10. Prepare mashed potatoes and green beans to serve.
  11. Serve with cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie for dessert.
