Description
Delicious old fashioned stuffed cabbage rolls filled with seasoned meat and rice.
Ingredients

- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove cabbage leaves and blanch them in boiling water until soft.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onions, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Place a portion of the meat mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Place the rolls seam side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the cabbage rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use leftover rice for quicker preparation.
- Adjust seasonings to your taste.
- Top with sour cream for extra flavor.
