Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat.
  2. Stir until mixture thickens and starts to boil.
  3. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add some hot mixture to yolks, then return to saucepan.
  4. Add butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  5. Slice bananas and layer them in the pie crust.
  6. Pour the custard over the bananas.
  7. Chill pie for at least 4 hours before serving.
