Description
A classic Oklahoma fried onion burger combines juicy beef patties with crispy fried onions for added flavor.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices American cheese (optional)
- Pickles, lettuce, and tomato for topping
Instructions
- Soak the onion slices in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dredge the soaked onions in flour and fry until golden brown.
- Form the ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties on the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Add fried onions on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet for a minute.
- Assemble the burgers with cheese, pickles, lettuce, and tomato.
