Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until onion is translucent.
  4. Add ground beef; cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Combine cooked pasta with the meat sauce mixture.
  7. Transfer half of the mixture to a baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with mushrooms or lentils.
  • You can use any marinara sauce of your choice.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
