- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened.
- Add cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until cheese melts.
- Combine macaroni with cheese sauce. Mix well.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- You can add cooked bacon or vegetables for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
