Ingredients

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cold water and egg.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Dip fish or shrimp into the batter, then carefully place in the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
