  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  3. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. While the cake bakes, prepare the butter sauce by melting 1 cup butter, 2 cups sugar, and 1 cup water in a saucepan.
  11. Once the cake is done, let it cool for 10 minutes, then poke holes in it and pour the sauce over the cake.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the batter.
