Ingredients

- 1 loaf of Italian bread, cubed
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add celery and onion; sauté until soft.
- Add garlic and herbs; cook for 1 more minute.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, salt, and pepper.
- Pour chicken broth over mixture; stir until bread is moistened.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Can be prepared a day in advance.
- Adjust herbs according to taste.
- Add cooked sausage for extra flavor.
