Instructions

  1. Rinse basmati rice under cold water until water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, heat ghee over medium heat.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  4. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and mixed vegetables; cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add rinsed rice, water, garam masala, and salt; stir well.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  8. Cook for 15 minutes or until rice is fluffy.
  9. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  10. Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
