Description
A traditional Hungarian goulash recipe made with beef, vegetables, and spices.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add the beef and brown on all sides.
- Stir in paprika and caraway seeds.
- Add the beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add carrots, potatoes, and bell pepper.
- Continue cooking until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, and vinegar before serving.
Notes
- Serve with crusty bread.
- Goulash can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
