  • 4 cups turkey broth
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 2 cups stuffing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey from packaging and pat dry.
  3. Rub the turkey with softened butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the turkey with onion, lemon, and stuffing if desired.
  5. Place the turkey breast side up on a roasting rack.
  6. Pour turkey broth into the roasting pan.
  7. Cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil.
  8. Roast for 13-15 minutes per pound.
  9. Remove foil during the last hour to brown the skin.
  10. Check internal temperature; it should be 165°F (74°C).
  11. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
