- 4 cups bread cubes
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and milk. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
- Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
- If using, fold in raisins.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the vanilla sauce.
- Serve warm with vanilla sauce on top.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for best results.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
