Description

A classic dessert made with bread, milk, eggs, and spices, topped with a rich vanilla sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and milk. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  4. If using, fold in raisins.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare the vanilla sauce.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla sauce on top.
