Description

A rich and moist German chocolate sheet cake topped with a delicious coconut pecan frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a sheet cake pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Stir in boiling water until smooth.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the frosting, melt butter in a saucepan and stir in sweetened condensed milk, coconut, and pecans.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  10. Spread frosting over the cooled cake.

  • Allow the cake to cool completely before adding frosting.
