  • Butter – 1 cup, softened
  • Salt – 2 tablespoons
  • Pepper – 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • Onion – 1 large, quartered
  • Carrots – 2, chopped
  • Celery – 2 stalks, chopped
  • Chicken broth – 4 cups
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage) – 1 bunch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the turkey with softened butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the cavity with garlic, onion, carrots, celery, and herbs.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  6. Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2-3 hours.
  7. Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30-60 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Check the turkey’s internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  • Letting it rest helps retain juices.
