Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups bread cubes
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups cranberry sauce
  • 1 pumpkin pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
  4. In a bowl, mix bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add chicken broth gradually until moist.
  6. Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
  7. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  8. Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every hour.
  9. Remove foil for the last hour to brown the skin.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
  11. Serve with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
