Crispy slow cooker carnitas made with flavorful pork.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder.
  2. Mix salt, cumin, and chili powder in a bowl.
  3. Rub the spice mixture over the pork.
  4. Place onion and garlic in the slow cooker.
  5. Add the pork on top of the onion and garlic.
  6. Pour orange juice and lime juice over the pork.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  8. Remove pork and shred it with two forks.
  9. Broil shredded pork for 5-10 minutes for crispiness.
