A rich and moist chocolate depression cake made without eggs or dairy.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Make three wells in the dry ingredients.
- Pour vinegar into one well, oil into another, and vanilla into the third.
- Pour water over all the ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.

- Store leftovers in an airtight container.

- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting if desired.
