Description
A comforting dish of chicken and dumplings made easily in a crockpot.
Ingredients

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Add chicken broth, carrots, celery, onion, salt, pepper, thyme, and cream of chicken soup.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Shred the chicken before adding frozen peas.
- Cut biscuit dough into quarters and drop into the crockpot.
- Cover and cook for an additional 30-40 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For a thicker consistency, use less broth.
- This dish can be frozen for later use.
